• Mastodon’s allowlist mode also implies AUTHORIZED_FETCH which in turn implies that all pages are only visible to logged-in users, so the above Mastodon link does not contain anything useful.
• Akkoma wasn’t working — attempts to start it in Docker led to confusing Postgres errors I lacked the patience to debug further.
• Kitsune has not yet reached the point where it can be deployed even in contexts like this.
• I could find no other ActivityPub software (aside from forks or upstreams of these) which both was actively maintained and supported allowlist federation.
• The profile icon for each user means “jan taso” — “only person” in toki pona.
• This project was inspired by my peripheral participation in the Website League.
